        Founded in 2015, Crestone was formed through a combination of eleven strategically complementary communications and utility services companies. Crestone has expanded its offerings to include end-to-end subsurface and aboveground infrastructure services. A fundamental component of the Crestone story is the rapid growth of the business. Through both organic and acquisitive growth, Crestone has entered into nine new markets, and added over 100 new customers since 2018.

4 ways that 5g is changing the way American’s work in a post-pandemic world.

Without notice, the coronavirus pandemic forced millions of Americans to navigate working remotely. America’s wireless infrastructure was put to the test as the internet became overly congested and people relied more heavily on strong signals to complete work and homework, have doctor appointments, attend virtual baby showers, and more. Today, more than 4.3 million Americans work remotely. Now as a 5G infrastructure continues to sweep the nation, it’s undoubtedly changing the way Americans work in this post-pandemic world. 

1. Increased Speeds, Lower Latency

5G has proven to be 100-250 times faster than its predecessor, 4G LTE. Through 5G, remote workers have seen the advantages of connecting more devices while maintaining high speeds, and experiencing lower latency—the time it takes for the signal to travel from a wireless device to the data center and back. Increased speeds and lower latency means remote workers have a faster wireless connection to complete more work with less lag or interruption.

There’s nothing more frustrating than dropped calls or a lagging internet connection when you’re dealing with work meetings and tight deadlines. 5G networks are built to be more reliable, allowing the remote worker to easily connect to people across the world. A study by Owl Labs found that remote workers say they’re happy in their jobs 29% more than on-site workers. Remote workers are also reported to have less stress, more focus, and a better work-life balance.

Due to its ability to handle large amounts of data, 5G technology also allows greater accessibility. For remote workers, 5G delivers real-time or instantaneous access to data, without worrying about being disconnected. For employers, there’s greater access to a broader talent pool when hiring new employees, as you are no longer limited by physical office spaces.

As 5G expands over the years, it will continue to change the way Americans work, allowing more reliable connectivity and increased accessibility, and greater opportunities to work from anywhere.
