Dillie and Kuhn of Crestone Services Group is seeking a candidate for a full-time General Laborer responsible for providing both physical and general labor. The individual(s) in this position are required to work with safety in mind.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must have physical stamina sufficient to perform construction type work such as: lifting and carrying approximately 75 pounds, bending, stooping, pulling, climbing in and around construction equipment, up and down ladders and in and out of ditches.
  • Follow direction, written or verbal, from supervisors.
  • Operate and care for construction equipment and materials.
  • Prep for construction sites as requested, load or unload construction materials.
  • Operate various hand tools and power tools.
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
  • Pressure washing job-specific tasks, clean up, equipment, vehicles.
  • Unloading/loading materials, equipment, and tools.
  • On-going training and education at home or work location.
    • On-the-job task and equipment training.
    • In-person and classroom safety training.
    • On-line safety training.
  • Housekeeping and general clean-up duties – indoors and/or outdoors.
    • Job site, yards, storage areas, mechanic shop, other work locations.
  • General material, equipment, and tool inventory, tracking and control – indoors and/or outdoors.
  • Inspections (random and scheduled) for day/night jobsite and building security at job sites, yards, storage areas, offices, mechanic shops and other work locations.
  • Parts/materials/tools/equipment delivery and/or pickup – assisted lifting, no load/unload.
  • Utility damage prevention: observations
  • Read and understand equipment operator’s manual and equipment technology (e.g. GPS or other grade control systems).
  • Vehicle and equipment inspections, recordkeeping.
  • Pressure washing, job-specific tasks, clean up, equipment, vehicles.
  • Raking and spreading materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Requirements

  • General experience on a construction site is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Class A CDL preferred
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Must be customer oriented: ability to take care of the customer while following company procedures.
  • Ability to lift to 80 lbs. from floor to above head.
  • Able to work on feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders
  • Work in trenches, manholes, tunnels, closets
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold weather conditions.
  • Ability to work long hours if needed

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to moving equipment.

Position Details:

  • Salary Range: Based on experience $20 hourly
